Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson had a tough childhood. He was part of a family of 9. Maureen, Jackie, Tito, LaToya, Jermaine, Marlon, Randy, Michael and Janet. That's in order, from oldest to youngest. They had a low income and his father worked at a steel mill. Some of the kids in the family would play with their father's guitar to see if they could learn to play. And they got caught when they broke a string. It was their dad's guitar and he didn't want a bunch of kids using it. Their dad made them play it fro him and only to realise that they were really good! That's when Michael's father started Michael and his brother's careers, The Jackson 5.

At the age of 5 Michael had started his career in the music business. They started at local talent shows and slowly worked their way up. A lot of people found it unfair that The Jackson 5 kept coming back to the same talent show and kept wining. They slowly made their way up with lots and lots of practice. They would come home after school and have a practice right away. His father didn't even give the kids time to eat before they practised. They would get home late and go do more practising and then they would eat and do their home work late at night.

Michael's father was abusive to all the children, but mostly Michael. He was the one who always fought back. If his father would say something he didn't like he would talk back. He would then get slapped with either a belt or his father's hand. Sometimes when he would be hit, he would run and hide under a table, inside a closet, anywhere he could go to get away from his father. His father would push the group so hard, as young as they may have been, his father didn't care. His dad's name was Joe. Joe pushed his son's as far as he could to get them to be a success. He figured he could make a living off of them. Michael was raised a Jahova's Witness so he didn't celebrate birthdays.

Michael Jackson has accomplished many important things in his life. He has a family of his own now. Although his childhood was rough, it helped him. It showed him how life was as an adult and to know that not everything will always go as intended. Michael had learnt a lot from his mother because she had such a great attitude and supported him and his siblings in anything they needed or did. She was the most supportive person in his family.
