SNOWBOARDING

I have chosen to write about snowboarding. In the next few paragraphs, you will learn the basics of snowboarding, when the sport originated, some advice if it's your first time, and who the inventor of this exhilarating sport which has become so popular is. This is a risky yet fun and exciting sport. It's great excercise, and once you get the hang of it, it might be the most exciting sport you'll ever experience.

The basics of this sport aren't very complicated at all. Really, all you need is balance and no fear. While you are buying your equipment, especially if it's your first season, do not go for name brands, or the most expensive board and boots. But it's also important to keep in mind your comfort, because that one factor can make or break your perspective on this sport . But of all that, the most important piece of equipment is the helmet. Trust me, I know from experience. So many people have been paralysed and few have even died because they were too cool to wear a helmet. So now you catch my drift.

Well, moving on, I'll tell you a bit about the basics of trying to get down the hill. Like I said before, you need to have balance. Without that, you won't get much farther than the chair lift. You must always have your knees bent at a 150 degree angle. Always lean on your front foot, so that your back leg is lighter and is able to move from side to side, making it easier to steer yourself. The more your back foot swings, the more sharp and distinguished your turns will be, and it's also useful for beginners because it slows you down, and leaves you in control, and that's your goal: to always be in control. Surprisingly enough, the first snowboard-like invention was made in 1929, by M.J. Burchett. He cut out a plank of plywood and secured his feet into it with a length of clothesline and horse reigns. The first actual snowboard was invented.

Today, snowboarding is one of the most popular sports on the ski hills, and continues to entreague more and more people of all ages. This is a great sport, and everyone should try it because it's such a great experience.
