JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES
My subject is Jehovah's Witnesses. While I was doing my research on the Internet I found some sites that were unfavourable to Jehovah's Witnesses. Since it's difficult to learn the truth about anything from someone prejudiced, I'd like to write about a few things we believe and why we believe them.
One of the things that we are known for is that we go door-to-door. The reason we do this is simple. We believe everything in the Bible and in Matthew 28:19, 20, Jesus said: "Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations". Jesus was speaking to everyone who claimed to be one of his disciples, so if we really claim to follow the Bible, we believe this includes preaching the Kingdom News.
Another thing we are well-known for is that we do not take blood-transfusions. As mentioned before, we believe everything in the Bible and in Acts 15:28,29 it clearly says, "abstain from blood". In Leviticus 17:14 it says: "you must not eat any sort of blood". Many argue that when you take a blood-transfusion, you are not actually eating the blood, but take for example, the people who are so sick they cannot digest their food. How are they fed? They have food injected in their veins. So in other words, eating blood, and having blood injected into your veins is the same thing. Some have the idea that it is either take blood and live or don't take blood and die, but that isn't true. There are many other non-blood treatments that can be used with success. People are beginning to see that blood-transfusions are not safe and people have gotten terrible diseases from it. Well known doctors are now saying that non-blood treatments are safer and more effective. Some hospitals now refuse to use blood in any of their treatments. So its not just Jehovah's Witnesses who are against blood-transfusions.
In summary I would like to say that Jehovah's Witnesses are entirely unified in their beliefs. Because we base our beliefs on the Bible and not the current traditions or man-made ideas Jehovah's Witnesses all over the world believe the same things. We also have not been and are not involved in any of the wars going on in the world.
