Tigers

The tiger is a very interesting animal. The tiger is also a Chinese astrological sign. Most of the tigers that are left, live in Asia. The biggest tigers who weigh 550 pounds, live in Siberia and some western parts of China. The smaller tigers live in areas of India, Turkestan, Iran, other parts of China, Japan, Java, and Sumatra.

The tiger is a carnivore. They eat deer, wild pigs, antelope, and a lot of cattle. Indian tigers can eat almost 32,000 cattle a year! They also eat small buffalo. Tigers do not eat large buffalo for they are too strong. Man-eating tigers are are not what you think. They are old tigers who can't fight buffalo for they might get killed. The old tigers are weak, so they prey on humans for they are easy to find, and have almost no defence. (Except for a guns and knives).

Tigers are mostly hunted by humans for Asian medicine. Long ago, and today, a lot of people in Asia still believe that tiger parts can help stop some pains such as arthritis, and other pains in the joints. Poachers kill tigers for the fur, which they can sell for thousands of dollars.

All in all, I believe that tigers are the most magnificent and graceful creatures on earth, and I hope they do not become extinct, for it would be a great loss for planet earth.
